Manage consultants and contractors to implement landscape projects within budget and on time.

  • Provide technical support and recommendations to design and brief preparation, quotation and tender submissions appraisals.
  • Maintain and manage a project team comprised of a range of internal and external stakeholders to implement landscape projects.
  • Prepare and manage a variety of written reports to a high standard to facilitate the timely implementation of projects, inform, provide specialised advice and make recommendations to senior management and external parties.
  • Manage and report on projects, including budget, program, scope, resourcing, quality and risks.
  • Respond to internal and external enquiries regarding landscape projects and participate in community engagement processes as required.

Reporting to Operations Coordinator – Horticulture and Team Leader responsible for the site, you will need to have:

  • Minimum Certificate III in Horticulture (or equivalent qualification)
  • At least five years’ relevant hands-on employment experience in horticulture, preferred in a botanic garden setting
  • Willingness to undertake Drug, Alcohol and Medical and Functional (physical fitness) testing
  • Strong commitment to WHS

Your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Install and maintain seasonal plantings
  • Mow, trim and fertilise green spaces
  • Mulching and weeding gardens
  • Prune and trim trees and bushes
  • Maintain all gardening equipment and machinery, like mowers, trimmers and leaf blowers

Our ideal candidate will have excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset coupled with a strong knowledge of the landscape industry.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Interpreting plans, specifications and client requirements to ensure all requirements for any given project are met
  • Occasionally administering variation requests and minor works
  • Establishing pricing schedules
  • Preparation and review of estimates and tender documentation
  • Timely submission of tender documents in consultation with the Tender Manager
  • Building relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Timely processing of relevant documents relating to work activities

The successful applicant would ideally possess:

  • Good knowledge in landscape and civil construction, preferably having over three years of experience in the field as a Supervisor, or in the office as an Estimator or Project Manager
  • Irrigation knowledge will be ideal but not essential
  • Experience in WHS management
  • Excellent customer service and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work in a close-knit team
  • Good presentation and communication skills
  • Previous experience using Microsoft, Excel and various related programs

  • Ensure projects are completed to our high standards following the Inspection Testing Points.

  • Comply to company policy in regard to OH&S, Quality Control and Environmental Systems.
  • Experience with pumps or plumbing licences would be desired but not essential.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in irrigation installation;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Excellent customer service skills; and
  • Able to operate independently.
