We are seeking an enthusiastic, and highly motivated candidates for the position/s of Climbing Arborists, EWP Operators & Groundcrew to join our dynamic and professional team, where we operate on the principle of a 4 day work week.

The Role

  • We operate from our Lonsdale and Kilburn Depots which allows us to undertake works all throughout SA.
  • Works will include but not limited to: Tree Removals, Climbing Works, Street Tree Pruning/Reductions & Formative Pruning within South Australia. Our clients are spread all over South Australia so there may be opportunities to work away with Living Away From Home Allowance.

Essential

  • Experience working within the industry and undertaking relevant works
  • Passion for working outside within the Arboriculture and Horticulture Industry
  • Strong work ethic and able to work in a team environment
  • Current and Valid Drivers Licence
  • Chainsaw Ticket
  • An ability to learn advanced arboriculture industry techniques.

Desirable – highly favourable

  • MR Truck Licence
  • EWP above 11m – only for EWP Operator Role
  • Certificate III in Arboriculture or Horticulture (or similar)
  • Climbing Certified with experience
  • WZTM (or be willing to obtain)
  • White Card (or be willing to obtain)

The Roles available are:

Maintenance Mechanic:

  • Relevant recognised Trade Certificate or experience as a Diesel Mechanic/Fitter
  • Diagnostic skills and Troubleshooting experience
  • Urbans utilises a range of different vehicles and equipment including but not limited to; skid steers bobcats, excavators, tractors, EWP, Tree Chippers, various-size trucks, ride-on mowers.
  • Ability to follow OEM service schedules
  • Self-motivated and able to work unassisted
  • Current and Valid Drivers Licence

Small Plant Mechanic:

  • Relevant recognised trade certificate in small plant mechanical i.e. Stihl, John Deere, Toro, and Kubota, or equivalent experience within a similar role
  • Experience working in a small plant workshop environment.
  • Ability to follow OEM service schedules
  • High level mechanical diagnostic skills and ability to carry out service/repairs in a timely manner

  • Garden & Grounds Maintenance: hedging, weeding, mowing (ride on/push), planting, formative pruning, whipper snipping, edging, mulching and other tasks as required, Cylinder mowing, Rotary mowing, Verti-draining, fertilising, spraying (herbicide/fungicide/fertiliser), fertilising, tractor slashing.
  • Weed Spray Operator: weed spraying using custom vehicles, sports field spraying, organic weed control.

The Role

This role is integral part of the organisation, reporting to the Landscape Construction and Civil Manager and will work closely with the tendering team, site supervisors and operations coordinator.

Key responsibilities of the role will include but not limited to; 

  • Oversee multiple projects ensuring all works are delivered on time and of the highest standard
  • Coordinate and monitor all facets of the project (staff, sub-contractors, materials, resources)
  • Must have good understanding of contracts, sub-contractor and supplier agreements
  • Ability to understand, manage and deliver projects within construction budgets
  • Continual project status communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead and promote the company’s safety, quality and environmental culture
  • Contribute to continual learning and development of the team by providing coaching and mentorship
  • Assist in tender reviews, reports and budgets for senior management and stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • A professional qualification in Project Management, Building or Construction or a trade qualification with extensive knowledge, skills, and project experience
  • Proven experience with successful delivery of civil and/or landscape construction projects
  • Sound professional knowledge and experience to identify and resolve issues
  • Experience with estimating to assist with variations
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, including multitasking against competing priorities

We are seeking an enthusiastic & experienced Client Service Coordinator to join our high-performing team. This position is an integral part of the business and provides day-to-day operational leadership to contractors and clients relating to assigned project works for our Social Housing Provider Horticultural maintenance contracts.

THE ROLE 

The range of duties that will be required to perform include but are not limited to:

  • Implementation and monitoring work’s programming of amenity horticultural / arboriculture functions within the client requirements.
  • Assessment of horticultural and arboricultural assets as raised by clientele and efficient scheduling of required works.
  • Working closely with the Coordinators of various divisions within the Organisation, to discuss, advise, and recommend any possible opportunities for improvements to service delivery and productivity.
  • Developing and maintaining a satisfied customer base within a framework of KPIs.
  • Responsibility for the financial management of projects to ensure operational profitability and KPIs are continually met.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will possess the following experience, skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum Certificate III Horticulture or Arboriculture paired with a minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience in contract management
  • Strong customer service skills paired with the ability to maintain and enhance existing relationships with key stakeholders/clients/contracts and field staff to achieve desired outcome
  • Have exceptional communication skills and interpersonal skills both written and verbal to effectively communicate ideas, instructions and information
  • Strong understanding of working to and analysis of budgets, margins and project programs
  • Effective computer skills with knowledge of programming and Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate ideas, instructions, and information
  • Be available to be on call 24 hours a day on a roster
