New Generation Weed Control Services Vehicles
Date: March 2010
Whilst there is no such thing as the perfect weed control services vehicle, over the last 35 years we have learned a lot on how to do things better.
$300K Investment
As a part of our continuous improvement program of fleet upgrading UrbanVirons have recently invested over $300K in new generation weed control services vehicles suited to meeting Local Government and State Government department OHS&W risk minimisation needs in South Australia.
Safer Vehicles Lowers OHS&W Risk
The 4 Ford Ranger vehicles have been professionally converted to dual steer drive, had dual backflow prevention devises installed (approved by SA Water), and a venturi assist filling system incorporated in the design. In simple terms what this means is that our operators can fill their tanks with water from the safety of the ground. There is no need to climb up onto the vehicle anymore. Also the chemical mixture used can again be dispensed and introduced into the mix tank from the safety of the ground.
Continous Improvement ideas from Weed Control Services staff
These latest innovations are 2 more of a number that have been built into these vehicles. The ideas come from our staff who are always looking for ways to make the job easier and safer. Anytime we can take advantage of new technology and great ideas to do what we do more effectively and efficiently we submit these ideas for the Company to consider. And when we can, we either upgrade existing weed control services vehicles, or in this case build them straight in when we commission a new vehicle.
